Harvested 3 New Tomatoes!

Today's harvest includes 7 Husky Cherry Red, 4 Stupice, 4 Principe Borghese, 3 Red Currant(1), 2 Red Boar, 2 Patio, SunGold, Sweet 100, Green Grape, Speckled Roman, Sweet Tangerine (7 ounces), Violet Jasper, Marianna's Peace (8 ounces, new), German Orange Strawberry (new) and Orange Fleshed Purple Smudge (new) for a total of 31 tomatoes.

I don't know the weight but I'd estimate it at 2 pounds.

There's so many plants with ripening tomatoes that it's hard to keep track of it all. A Black Krim is clearly ripening and the tomatoes look great on the plant. And today I harvested two new ones that I wasn't expecting. The Orange Fleshed Purple Smudge had no purple smudge (all orange). The German Orange Strawberry may have been picked early as it's more yellow than orange.

I did some work on the tomato plants both last night and this morning. My wife made one pass on the tomato plants last night and I made the second pass this morning.

Green Grapes Were Delicious; Zaptoec Pleated Very Good

Today's harvest includes 6 Red Currant(1), 3 Patio, 3 Principe Borghese, 2 Red Currant(2), 2 SunGold, 2 Husky Cherry Red, SunSugar, Stupice, Violet Jasper, Sweet 100, Taxi, Lyn's Mahogany Garnet, Brown Berry, Sweet Tangerine, Snow White, Yellow Perfection and White Currant for a total of 29 tomatoes with a weight of 15 ounces.

My wife watered all of the back yard.

She also tried the two Green Grapes and noted they were delicious. We tried Zapotec Pleated and while it was a little overripe it was very good. There's another one ripening and we'll try that one at the right time.

A while back I noted that Aunt Ruby's German Green(2) in the “koi pond” had a tomato, but I don't see any tomatoes on this plant.

A Topaz, Babywine and what looks like Enchantment are ripening.

Harvested Weeping Charlie, Green Grape and Zapotec Pleated!

Today's harvest includes 4 Principe Borghese, 3 Black Cherry, 2 Stupice, 2 Husky Cherry Red, 2 Patio, 2 Yellow Perfection, 2 Red Currant(1), 2 Green Grape (new), White Currant, Thessaloniki, Snow White (back yard), Brown Berry, SunGold, Violet Jasper, Zapotec Pleated (new) and Weeping Charlie (new) for a total of 28 tomatoes weighing in at 20 ounces.

Last night my wife and I met some old friends of ours at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown LA. We had a great dinner with their family. What a blast!

One of the harvested Patio tomatoes got pecked by birds and will be thrown away.

The two harvested Green Grape tomatoes look excellent. The ripening Marianna's Peace still isn't ready for harvesting. A few days ago I wrote that a Garden Peach was ripening, but now I don't see any yellow on the tomatoes. Perhaps I saw a tomato lighten in color but it isn't turning yellow yet.

Harvested Ananas Noire and Dr. Wyche's Yellow!

Today's harvest includes 4 Black Cherry, 3 SunGold, 2 Stupice, 2 Violet Jasper, 2 Principe Borghese, 2 Yellow Perfection, 2 Red Grape, White Currant, Snow White (back yard), Sweet Tangerine, Brown Berry, Red Currant(1), Red Currant(2), Patio, Dr. Wyche's Yellow(2) (new) and Ananas Noire (new) for a total of 26 tomatoes with a weight of 23 ounces.

My wife cut up several tomatoes for dinner. We were both impressed with Red Boar and Speckled Roman. My wife liked Taxi as well. Well, we liked them all but these stood out among the rest.

My wife and I walked through the tomato garden yesterday evening. And because of that, we discovered that Ananas Noire was ripe and to my surprise, a Dr. Wyche's Yellow was ripe as well! A Marianna's Peace tomato is ripening.

Speaking of which, I forgot to check on the ripening Green Grape.

Harvested 7 New Tomatoes!

On Friday my wife watered the front yard tomatoes and the back yard container tomatoes with a mixture of fish emulsion and water.

Saturday's harvest: 12 Red Currant(1), 3 Stupice, 3 Principe Borghese, 2 White Currant, 2 Red Boar (new), Patio, Violet Jasper, Black Cherry, Sweet Tangerine, Red Currant(2), Brown Berry (new) and Gypsy (new) for a total of 29 tomatoes.

My wife and I were out most of the day with things to do. I was home in the evening recovering from Friday's food poisoning/flu/not sure what I had.

Sunday's harvest: 5 Red Currant(1), 3 White Currant, 3 Stupice, 2 Principe Borghese, 2 Taxi, Snow White (front yard), Patio, Violet Jasper, SunSugar, Yellow Perfection, Jaune Flamme(1), Speckled Roman, Thessaloniki (new) and Volunteer (2) (new, Red Grape) for a total of 24 tomatoes.

My wife and I visited her parents, her brother and friend at the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney to celebrate Father's Day in the afternoon.

I did some research on what Volunteer(2) could be but couldn't come up with any ideas. I showed this to my wife and she came up with Red Grape. She's right – that's the closest match to this smallish teardrop tomato not quite the size of Principe Borghese. We grew Red Grape last year just like the other two volunteers.

My wife moved our back yard umbrella to better protect some of the back yard container plants. Some of them are getting too much sun, such as Chile Verde.

Today's harvest includes: 4 Stupice, 3 Principe Borghese, 2 Red Currant(1), 2 Violet Jasper, Snow White (front yard), Black Cherry, Lyn's Mahogany Garnet, Taxi, Red Currant(2), Red Cherry, Sweet Tangerine (6 ounces), White Currant, Snow White (back yard, new) and Husky Chery Red (new) for a total of 21 tomatoes.

Also I added fertilizer to all the back yard container plants as well as watered it in.

I don't remember the exact figures but the harvest weight for each of the three days was between 20 and 24 ounces (21, 23.5 and 21.5?)

Ananas Noire, Weeping Charlie, Green Grape and Garden Peach have maturing tomatoes. The harvest tide is coming!
