Today's harvest includes 29 Matt's Wild Cherry, 19 SunSugar, 13 Husky Cherry Red(2), 8 SunGold(1), 7 Golden Mama, 5 Stupice, 5 Jaune Flamme, 5 Sweet Carneros Pink, 4 Haley's Purple Comet, 4 Garden Peach, 3 Bloody Butcher, 3 Husky Cherry Red(1), 2 Green Zebra(1), 2 Vorlon (6 ounces), 2 Green Zebra(2), 2 Quedlinburger Fruehe Liebe, 2 Dr. Wyche's Yellow (13 ounces, 11.5 ounces) 2 Green Grape, 2 Cassidy's Folly, 2 Orange and Green Zebra, Crimson Cushion (17.5 ounces) (new), Husky Gold (new), Southern Night, Portuguese Neighbor (12 ounces), Kellogg's Breakfast, Jaune Coeur de Pigeon, Black Seaman(2), Paul Robeson(2) (10 ounces), Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red (8 ounces) and Lime Green Salad for a total of 131 tomatoes.

The harvested Crimson Cushion is a beautiful tomato.

Last night we tried Australian Giant Oxheart, Porkchop and Vorlon. All three were winners. I wasn't in love with Porkchop, though I liked it a lot. The other two taste testers loved it.

My wife informs me that we've given Golden Mama a bum rap. She had one earlier today that was more golden than yellow and it was delicious!

Harvested Porkchop and Portuguese Neighbor!

Today's harvest includes 18 SunSugar, 13 Matt's Wild Cherry, 9 Husky Cherry Red(2), 7 Bloody Butcher, 6 SunGold(1), 4 Husky Cherry Red(1), 4 Green Grape, 3 Vorlon (8 ounces), 3 Quedlinburger Fruehe Liebe, 3 Haley's Purple Comet, 2 Honkin' Big Black Cherry, 2 Golden Mama, 2 Jaune Flamme, 2 Lime Green Salad, 2 Stupice, 2 Sweet Carneros Pink, 2 Black And Brown Boar, Porkchop (9 ounces) (new), Portuguese Neighbor (15 ounces) (new), Australian Giant Oxheart (13 ounces) Paul Robeson(1), Volunteer(1), Green Doctor's Kiwi(2), Kellogg's Breakfast, Black Seaman(2) (6 ounces) and Garden Peach for a total of 93 tomatoes.

Porkchop was a bit of a surprise. It's a beautifully brightly striped yellow tomato. If it tastes as good as it looks it will taste fantastic. I can't wait!

The harvested Portuguese Neighbor nearly weighed a pound. It's colored pink. I may have picked it a day early.

Side note: Green Doctor's Kiwi(1) isn't a Green Doctor's Kiwi. The tomatoes are too big. None of the tomatoes have matured so we're not sure what it is at this point.

A German Orange Strawberry is maturing.

Today's harvest includes 8 SunSugar, 4 Husky Cherry Red(2), 4 Stupice, 2 Black Krim(1) (6 ounces) (new), 2 Orange and Green Zebra (new), 2 Dr. Wyche's Yellow (9 ounces) (new), 2 Cassidy's Folly (new), 2 Quedlinburger Fruehe Liebe, 2 Black And Brown Boar, 2 Creme Brulee, 2 Green Grape, 2 SunGold(1), Big Zebra (new), Patio (new), Aunt Ruby's German Green(2) (new), Haley's Purple Comet, Bloody Butcher, Matt's Wild Cherry, Large Pink Anna(2), Lime Green Salad, Honkin' Big Black Cherry, Jaune Flamme and Paul Robeson(2) (13 ounces) for a total of 45 tomatoes.

We harvested six new tomatoes today! I forgot to mention that Orange And Green Zebra and Big Zebra were maturing. Patio was mentioned earlier but the tomato was too bad to count. Black Krim(1) and Dr. Wyche's Yellow were surprises.

The Paul Robeson(2) tomato looks beautiful!

My wife will check some of the tomato plants with leaf curl damage and poor growth and may pull some tomato plants today or tomorrow.

Harvested Five New Tomatoes!

Today's harvest includes 8 SunSugar, 7 Stupice, 7 Black and Brown Boar, 6 Quedlinburger Fruehe Liebe, 6 Husky Cherry Red(1), 4 Bloody Butcher, 4 Paul Robeson(1), 4 Lime Green Salad, 4 SunGold(1), 4 Matt's Wild Cherry, 3 Black Krim(2), 3 Jaune Coeur de Pigeon, 3 Husky Cherry Red(2), 2 Southern Night (6 ounces) (new), 2 Creme Brulee, 2 Honkin' Big Black Cherry, 2 Jaune Flamme, 2 Black Seaman(2), 2 Green Grape, Paul Robeson(2) (11.5 ounces) (new), Large Pink Anna(1) (new), Green Zebra(2) (new), Garden Peach (new), Kellogg's Breakfast (7.5 ounces) (new), Indian Stripe and Large Pink Anna(2) for a total of 83 tomatoes.

The tomato plants have been watered over yesterday and today. All the container plants got fertilizer and then it was watered in.

Five new tomatoes were harvested today! Paul Robeson(2) looked beautiful. Kellogg's Breakfast looks good but may have been harvested a day too early. That's not much of a problem at all. Southern Night looks interesting. The most unusual is Green Zebra(2). As I've mentioned earlier, it's red so it's not Green Zebra(2). The tomato had what looked like a wormhole (it's obviously a hole but I doubt it's a wormhole) so the tomato will be unusable. Until I can determine what the real tomato is, I'll keep the Green Zebra(2) moniker.

This heat wave (three days over 100 degrees) are pushing the tomatoes toward maturity. The tide is coming in!

Speckled Roman and Sweet 100 have tomatoes growing on them!

Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red and Vorlon -- Two Great Tasting Tomatoes!

Today's harvest includes 6 Pierce's Pride, 6 Black and Brown Boar, 5 SunSugar, 4 Husky Cherry Red(1), 3 Bloody Butcher, 3 Green Grape, 3 Black Cherry, 2 SunGold(1), 2 Quedlinburger Fruehe Liebe, 2 Golden Mama, 2 Matt's Wild Cherry, 2 Husky Cherry Red(2), 2 Stupice, 2 Vorlon, Green Zebra(1), Black Krim, Volunteer(1) and Lime Green Salad for a total of 48 tomatoes.

We tried Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red and Vorlon for breakfast this morning. Tomato slices were placed on a garlic bagel with mozzarella, butter, salt, pepper, olive oil and dried basil. Two thumbs up on both tomatoes! Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red has a bright flavor with a twang without being acidic. The bagel provided a base for the tomato. Vorlon had a smooth but delicious flavor. The tomato brought out the taste of the bagel. Both Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red and Vorlon get two thumbs up from us. I would definitely grow them again.

We tried our second Green Zebra(1) and it was fantastic. It doesn't work on a bagel (my wife tried it) as it has more of a citrus flavor. Still, it was a great tasting tomato.

Maturing tomatoes include Southern Night, Garden Peach and Large Pink Anna(1).
