Saturday was chore day...
I had worked on digging out a portion of our grass during the week and continued digging it out on Saturday. My wife was working on acquiring four inch containers and transferring the rest of the tomato seedlings to them and that was completed on Saturday. I pitchforked our compost pile while my wife watered the back yard plants, including the compost pile.
While she was over in that general vicinity, she pointed out a volunteer tomato plant. She thought she had mentioned it to me previously but I was totally surprised by it. It's growing in an area that we haven't planted tomatoes before. It's about four or five inches tall with a rich, vibrant green color. It's very healthy.
The other three back yard tomato plants are doing quite nicely, They're all about five to six inches tall.
Our lemon tree was thinned out by our gardeners as well as capped the sprinkler head (it needed fixing as well) in our new patch of garden.
I spent the whole evening putting together an IKEA cabinet.
It looks like I'll get the patch of grass dug out before next weekend. I still have several hours to go but it looks like I'll get it done. Will I be able to turn the dirt and amend the soil? Maybe, maybe not. It's not critical but it definitely is a nice-to-have...
