First Seedlings Planted!

My wife planted three tomato plants yesterday, Dr. Wyche's Yellow, Ananas Noire and Zapotec Large Ribbed (which I think is Zapotec Pleated...but I need to look at the tag). My wife planted them because they're larger tomatoes and can use the extra time. Sounds good to me.

In the evening it started to rain. We hadn't brought in the tomato seedlings yet and were caught by surprise. While the rain itself wasn't bad, some of the seedlings were getting hit by roof runoff – that was bad. We may lose several of our seedlings.

I should add that these seedlings were purchased and not raised from seed.

Tomato Seedlings Appear

Tomato seedlings have sprouted!

All this rain has made turning the soil or soil testing unfeasible.

The CSUN tomato class is next Saturday – we're looking forward to it!
