Found Another Caterpillar...

Today's harvest (what there is of it) consists of 2 Piccolos, Stupice, Salisaw Cafe, Black Plum Paste and Kimberly.

I had to make a stop at home for lunch yesterday. I noticed that the planted Oregon Spring had gone into shock. I got some water on it and by the time I got home it was fine. I lightly watered all the new tomatoes this morning.

I put a stake in Kellogg's Breakfast.

I see plant damage to Aker's Plum but the plant is really thick. I don't see a caterpillar. I saw damage to Yellow Brandywine – Platfoot Strain and found a caterpillar within about five seconds.

Found 3 Caterpillars

Today's harvest includes 2 Italian Market Wonders, 2 Cherokee Chocolates, 2 Evan's Italian Plums, 2 Piccolos, Salisaw Cafe, Paul Robeson, Pierce's Pride, Aker's Plum (6 ounces), Green Grape and Black Plum Paste.

I tomato taped several tomato plants in the front and bSack yards. I taped Old Ivory Egg again but it looks like it will tip over anyway.

I've been searching for about two weeks for a caterpillar that struck Jaune Flamme. There were clear signs of damage, but I just couldn't find the source. I finally found it this morning. Later on in the morning I found a second one on the plant starting to attack the last untouched green portion of the plant. So I disposed of that, washed up and looked over at Black Krim (front yard), another plant that was taped. Lo and behold, I found a caterpillar on that one, too. Throw in street, go in, wash and dry hands again.

Planted Oregon Spring...

And today's haul includes 4 Piccolos, 3 Cherokee Chocolates, 2 Italian Market Wonders, Green Grape, Evan's Italian Plum, Olga's Round Yellow Chicken, Kimberly, Stupice and Black Cherry.

I forgot to mention that as part of Sunday's gardening, my wife cut back the Lime Green Salad in the "koi pond" to almost nothing. Two years ago she did a similar thing and this plant came back! We have since found out that this plant is semi-determinate, which explains the behavior we saw.

I planted the Oregon Spring tomato last night.

Pulled Two More Tomato Plants...

Today's harvest includes 5 Piccolos, 2 Black Plum Pastes, 2 Salisaw Cafes, 2 Cherokee Chocolates, Thessaloniki, Black Cherry and Evan's Italian Plum.

My wife finished watering the front yard while I watered the back yard.

Also, my wife pulled Radiator Charlie's Mortgage Lifter and Big Rainbow. I turned the dirt in a wide area of the "koi pond", added planter mix and turned again. But it was too dark to plant the last tomato. Perhaps tonight.

Reached 1000 Harvested Tomatoes For The Month

Today's harvest included 4 Piccolos, 3 Black Plum Pastes, 2 Cherokee Chocolates, Evan's Italian Plum, Zhezha (back yard) and Salisaw Cafe.

In spite of the consistent harvest over the last couple of weeks for Piccolo, it's starting to lose steam.

The gardeners came late on Saturday, so we never saw them. So the tomato plants that were to be pulled, weren't. We still have one more to plant.

We brought many of the remaining tomatoes down to our mother in law. We had a pleasant time with them.

We reached 1000 tomatoes for the month on the last day of the month.
