Wow, the tide went out, and fast! SunSugar, Matt's Wild Cherry and the two Husky Cherry Red plants have peaked, though both are strong enough to have a second wave.

My wife watered in the fertilizer in the rest of the container plants. She also cleaned out the dead growth in the SunSugar plant

A Big White Pink Stripe is maturing.

Today's count is nearly a 30 percent drop from yesterday's total. Did we top out? We'll see. There will be plenty of plants with a second wind so I believe our totals will be strong this year -- but again time will tell.

The harvested Persimmon, Paul Robeson and Pink Berkeley Tie Dye are beautiful tomatoes.

Yesterday morning I added fertilizer to the container plants. My wife watered it in for SunSugar.

Several more tomato plants are ready to be pulled.

Black From Tula and Black Seaman(1) have maturing tomatoes.

Yesterday's Canning Session

Tomatoes before canning

Tomatoes after canning

Unfortunately, one of the canning jars broke in the water bath.

Harvested Yellow Brandywine!

Today's harvest includes 46 Matt's Wild Cherry, 18 Husky Cherry Red(2), 14 Snow White, 11 SunSugar, 11 Husky Cherry Red(1), 10 Black Krim(1) (7 ounces, 11 ounces), 8 Haley's Purple Comet, 7 Golden Mama, 6 SunGold(1), 6 Bloody Butcher, 6 Large Pink Anna(2) (6 ounces, 6 ounces), 5 Southern Night (6 ounces, 6 ounces, 6 ounces), 4 Black Seaman(2), 4 Sweet Carneros Pink, 4 Lime Green Salad, 3 Green Grape, 3 Black Krim(2), 3 Black And Brown Boar, 3 Vorlon (6.5 ounces, 6 ounces), 3 Garden Peach, 2 Kellogg's Breakfast (10.5 ounces), 2 Jaune Flamme, 2 Quedlinburger Fruehe Liebe, 2 Jaune Coeur de Pigeon, 2 Crimson Cushion (11 ounces, 11 ounces), 2 Orange And Green Zebra, 2 Patio, 2 Cassidy's Folly, 2 Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red, 2 Indian Stripe, Yellow Brandywine (12 ounces) (new), Husky Gold, Stupice, German Orange Strawberry (9 ounces) and Porkchop (8 ounces) for a total of 200 tomatoes.

Well, so much for Matt's Wild Cherry topping out. Today's harvest total was bigger than yesterday's, though by total poundage yesterday's was clearly greater than today.

Today was the first RockfordFest down at Paradise Cove. I spent all day looking at old Firebirds and hanging at Paradise Cove. Several behind the scenes people came and spoke highly of James Garner and the show's atmosphere. My wife and I brought tomatoes from yesterday's and today's harvest which were liked by all.

And that's why today's post is late. I'm sunburned!

Today's harvest includes 23 Husky Cherry Red(2), 22 Matt's Wild Cherry, 17 Husky Cherry Red(1), 12 SunSugar, 11 Snow White, 9 Black Krim(1), 8 Haley's Purple Comet, 6 Sweet Carneros Pink, 5 Jaune Flamme, 5 Southern Night (6 ounces, 6,5 ounces, 12 ounces), 5 Golden Mama, 5 Black And Brown Boar, 5 SunGold(1), 4 Orange And Green Zebra, 4 Black Krim(1), 4 Garden Peach, 4 Kellogg's Breakfast (9 ounces, 6 ounces, 16 ounces, 7.5 ounces), 3 Lime Green Salad, 3 Crimson Cushion (11 ounces, 17 ounces, 16.5 ounces), 3 Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red (11 ounces, 8 ounces), 3 Large Pink Anna(2) (6 ounces, 8 ounces), 2 Green Grape, 2 Oaxacan Jewel(2) (new), 2 Black Seaman(2) (6 ounces, 6.5 ounces), 2 Bloody Butcher, 2 Paul Robeson(2) (6.5 ounces, 6 ounces), 2 Quedlinburger Fruehe Liebe, Vorlon, Indian Stripe, Porkchop, Stupice, Green Zebra(2) (not Green Zebra), Portuguese Neighbor (11.5 ounces), Dr. Wyche's Yellow (8.5 ounces), Green Doctor's Kiwi(1) (not Green Doctor's Kiwi) and Large Pink Anna(1) for a total of 182 tomatoes.

In spite of the growing numbers we may be topping out soon. SunSugar and Matt's Wild Cherry appear to be on the downside of their first harvest wave, but both are still quite strong and will have another harvest wave or two. Up and comers are Garden Peach and especially Snow White. The two Husky Cherry Red tomato plants have been remarkably productive.

Again, we've had some beautiful one pound tomatoes harvested today -- Kellogg's Breakfast and two Crimson Cushion tomatoes.

When my wife came into the kitchen she wanted to know what these large attractive red tomatoes were -- Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red!

Yesterday my wife watered a lot of the tomato plants. She also pulled out five tomatoes with too much damage -- Black Cherry, Paul Robeson(1), Emerald Evergreen, Creme Brulee and Chocolate Stripes(2).

The tide is coming in! Today's total is nearly 100 more tomatoes than last Thursday's harvest, nearly double Friday's harvest. Remarkable!

Again, we have some beautiful, large tomatoes in today's batch. Crimson Cushion and Portuguese Neighbor lead the way.

I'm surprised at how productive Husky Cherry Red(2) has been!

Over the past couple of days we have been cleaning out our second freezer. It was defrosted and cleaned out over the weekend, then placed in a more convenient location within our garage. And just in time! Also we've been doing many small and not so small upgrades to our house.

We've been giving away a fair amount of our tomatoes but now there are simply too many to give away. My wife is roasting some of today's harvest as I type this.

We now know which color the Brandywine plant will be. It will be a Yellow Brandywine. Also, a large Persimmon has started to mature.

Harvested Three New Tomatoes!

Today's harvest includes 33 Matt's Wild Cherry, 18 SunSugar, 17 Husky Cherry Red(2), 8 Black And Brown Boar, 8 Black Krim(1) (7.5 ounces, 10 ounces, 9 ounces, 8.5 ounces, 10 ounces), 7 Snow White (new), 5 Quedlinburger Fruehe Liebe, 5 Sungold(1), 4 Bloody Butcher, 4 Husky Cherry Red(1), 3 Southern Night, 3 Jaune Flamme, 3 Haley's Purple Comet, 3 Kellogg's Breakfast (6 ounces, 6.5 ounces, 15 ounces) 3 Vorlon (6 ounces, 8 ounces), 3 Indian  Stripe, 2 Green Grape, 2 Garden Peach, 2 Sweet Carneros Pink, 2 Lime Green Salad, 2 Green Doctor's Kiwi(2), 2 Porkchop (10.5 ounces), German Orange Strawberry (10 ounces) (new), Green Doctor's Kiwi(1) (new), Paul Robeson(1), Stupice, Orange and Green Zebra, Portuguese Neighbor (20.5 ounces), Pink Berkeley Tie Dye (7.5 ounces), Dr. Wyche's Yellow (12.5 ounces), Black Seaman(2) (6 ounces), Aunt Ruby's German Green(2), Black Krim(2), Green Zebra(2), Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red (12 ounces), Volunteer(1) for a total of 153 tomatoes.

My wife made marinated tomatoes and brought them to a pool party. From what I heard it was a huge hit!

As you can tell by the weight in parentheses, we're picking some pretty good sized tomatoes! Portuguese Neighbor is acting like this year's Jeff Davis -- uncorking some beautiful and hefty sized tomatoes.

We know one thing about Green Doctor's Kiwi(1) -- it's too big for Green Doctor's Kiwi. It's a mislabel.

SunGold(2) has an extremely tiny tomato growing on it.

My wife pulled Pierce's Pride this afternoon. There will be others to pull in the near future.
